Fly Control
Before you combat the fly population, it is important to strategize first. A fly zapper or trap will catch flies, but might not be as effective as it could be. The location of your fly problem and the area that needs to be controlled are the two biggest factors in determining which product would be the most effective
for YOUR application. Also, a fly zapper or fly trap alone might not be enough. Big warehouses and restaurants will need a few machines, or a combination of traps and zappers to control the various areas flies congregate.

Fly Control Products we offer, and what they do
Fly Zappers
Fly zappers lure flies with a UV light and kills them with a powerful jolt from the electric grid. Wattage determines the size, and sometimes an pheremone fly lure is added to the zapper for extra attractancy. We carry a line for both small and commercial applications. Fly Zapper bulbs should be replaced every season to ensure maximum output.
Zappers are suitable almost anywhere where flies are a problem, except in areas that are in close proximity of food, or wet areas such as: outside use or in damp facilities. These areas need a splashproof or indoor/outdoor model, which are built from stainless steel and/or plastic, that are specifically designed for these
applications. Some fly zappers have a "shatterproof" bulb for food and agricultural areas that cannot have accidental debris (especially glass) that could contaminate areas.
Fly Traps with Glueboards
Fly Traps are the alternative to a zapper, and are used to control flies silently and hygienically. Like the zappers, fly traps lure the insects with a powerful UV light, but instead of zapping, they get caught in a really "sticky" situation. The glue pads that capture the flies are pheremone impregnated,
enhancing the fly trap's attractancy. Not all fly traps use these special glue pads, but all of the traps on our site do.
Fly traps with a "discreet" design offer fly control for the most public places. These traps are often called Decorative Fly Traps, and are used in restuarant areas, and are disguised as contemporary light fixtures. Like the zappers, we carry a line for both small and commercial applications, and bulbs and
glue board refills are readily available. For maximum effectiveness, gluepads should be replaced every 4 weeks, and bulbs every season.
Pheremone Fly Lure
A pheromone is a chemical that triggers an innate behavioral response in another member of the same species. Many insect species release sex pheromones to attract a mate. You can use this natural behavior against them with our Pheremone fly lure cartridges. These cartridges will increase the fly zappers
effectiveness, especially in daylight hours where the UV bulbs will not be very effective.
Insecticide Sprays
Fly killing sprays can be very effective. They can be used as an on the spot killer when flies congregate in a certain area. However, when used with the timed release dispenser, it can control an area of approximately 6,000 sq. ft.. The metered dispenser discharges the fly killing spray at 3 spray intervals: 7.5, 15, or 30
minutes which kills the flies in the area, and repels those trying to enter. Handheld sprays are also available.
1.) Place the fly trap or zapper in between the source of the flies (doors, windows, trash cans, etc) and where you do not want the flies (dining room, kitchen, food prep area, etc)
2.) Keep the fly zappers and traps away from competing light sources. Although this is impossible to do completely. Mainly, keep the lights away from windows or any other source of sunlight.
3.) Place decorative fly traps, just above eye level. Approximately 5 1/2 feet from the ground.
4.) Place bigger commercial grade fly traps 3-5 feet from the ground.
5.) If you can't see the fly trap, a fly cannot see the fly trap. Make sure they are not hidden from view.
